Tap the red recording button and use Highlight, Pause and Stop. Obtain agreement from everyone involved first. Import playable audio from Files or another app’s share sheet: up to 500 MiB and 12 hours per file, with up to 20 files per selection.

Save a recording, choose On this iPhone, and select a local model. Apple Speech supports one language at a time when available. Use a multilingual Whisper model for mixed languages. Keep ownwords open for long jobs; the queue offers pause, resume and stop. Review summaries, tasks and speaker assignments against the audio.

Check Wi-Fi and free space if a model download fails. Wi-Fi-only can be changed in the model picker. Model downloads do not upload recordings. Manage microphone, speech and calendar access in iPhone Settings → Apps → ownwords. Whisper does not need Apple Speech permission.

Open a recording to share selected content. Swipe left in the list and confirm deletion to remove a recording permanently from the app. Manage voice profiles separately in Settings. Exports and earlier device backups can retain their own copies.

Keep the recording screen open. Retry saving or export an audio copy before leaving it. If stored metadata cannot be loaded, do not delete or reinstall the app before contacting support about recovery.
