TaxStayTracker Privacy Policy
This policy covers the TaxStayTracker iOS app operated by tva Pte Ltd. Visits to tva.sg are covered separately by tva's general website privacy policy.
Read the general tva privacy policyData processed on your iPhone
Depending on the features you use, TaxStayTracker processes countries, stays, precise location, flights, photos, notes, and TravelSafe documents on your device. Local app records remain there until you remove them or erase the app's data.
TravelSafe documents and their device-only vault key are excluded from iCloud Sync. iOS file-protection and app-locking controls reduce unauthorized access, but no device or storage system can promise absolute security.
Optional location tracking and geocoding
Location tracking is optional and starts off. You can add stays manually without enabling it. If you enable tracking and grant iOS location permission, the app can process precise coordinates to infer the country you are visiting.
TaxStayTracker may ask Apple's CLGeocoder service to convert coordinates into country information. Apple may therefore process the coordinates needed for that request under Apple's terms. TaxStayTracker keeps the resulting travel record locally unless you separately enable a cloud feature.
Optional iCloud Sync
iCloud Sync is off until you enable it, and it is enabled separately on each device. Supported countries, stays, location entries, flights, photos, and required record metadata are mirrored through the private CloudKit database of the Apple Account signed in on the device.
TravelSafe documents, the device-only vault key, backup passphrases, permissions, and device settings are not synced. Private CloudKit records are not visible to tva in the Apple Developer Portal. Apple processes them under its terms and your iCloud settings. Changes and deletions may propagate between enabled devices, so iCloud Sync is not a backup.
Encrypted backups in Files
When you choose a folder and start a backup, TaxStayTracker encrypts the complete snapshot on your iPhone with the passphrase you enter before handing the file to Apple's Files system. The passphrase is not stored by the app or included with the backup and cannot be recovered by tva.
Your selected File Provider, such as iCloud Drive or another installed provider, receives the encrypted file and may process file names, sizes, dates, account details, and network data needed to store or transfer it. tva receives neither the backup nor its passphrase and cannot independently confirm completion of a provider's remote upload.
No app account, developer analytics, or tva cloud copy
The current iOS release does not require a TaxStayTracker account, send app analytics to tva, use cross-app advertising tracking, or synchronize through a tva-operated Supabase service. Optional iCloud Sync and Files backups do not send a separate copy to a tva-operated server.
Your controls, retention, and deletion
You can delete individual local records or use Delete All in the app. You can revoke location permission in iOS Settings. To stop iCloud Sync on a device, turn it off in the app and follow the restart instruction shown there.
Turning off sync or deleting local app data does not itself remove records already stored in iCloud. Manage those records through Apple's iCloud storage controls. Disconnecting a backup folder or deleting local data does not delete encrypted backup files already held by your File Provider; delete those files through that provider. Apple and the selected provider apply their own retention rules.
Policy updates and contact
Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. For questions about TaxStayTracker or data under tva's control, contact [email protected].
For private CloudKit records or provider-hosted backup files, use Apple or the selected provider's account and privacy controls because tva cannot access those records or files.
